Ingeny, the home automation and custom installation business of security systems and building technology integrator Interphone, has become a registered outreach instructor for the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA). As a result, it will now be able to present the RIBA-certified CPD training course, titled Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes, so architects, specifiers, interior designers, property developers and M&E consultants can gain a better understanding of the ever-changing possibilities and requirements of residential home technology installation.

Designing Integrated Future-Ready Homes has been developed to educate design professionals about the benefits and processes involved in custom installation. The one-hour course will enable Ingeny to deliver continuing education to its industry partners by providing an overview of the core techniques and terminology regarding customer installation; outlining the latest opportunities around integrated home technology systems; and ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge to create modern, intelligent homes.

Nick Moore, General Manager of Ingeny commented: “By becoming a CEDIA-registered outreach instructor we will be able to better engage and educate architects, specifiers, interior designers, property developers and M&E consultants regarding the benefits of custom installation. This will help them explore how to integrate home and building technologies, understand the advantages of working with a CEDIA member and ensure that residents or homeowners gets the most from their living environment.”

CEDIA is the international trade organisation for the home technology industry with over 3,500 member companies worldwide. These companies specialise in the planning, design, supply and installation of automated electronic systems across all aspects of home technology including multi-room audio, home cinema, security, access control, energy management, lighting and curtain and blind control.
